The Joint Development Cooperation Committee approves 5 million Euros grants for projects on health and migrants in Afghanistan

The Joint Development Cooperation Committee, the deliberative body of Italian Cooperation established by Law No. 125/2014, was held on 3rd October.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, and attended by, among others, Deputy Minister Mario Giro, Director General of Development Cooperation PietroSebastiani, Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation Laura Frigenti, and representatives of CassaDepositi e Prestiti and of the Ministries of the Interior, Economy and Finance, and Environment.

The Committee approved a grant of 4 million Euros for the “Programme to reduce the rate of infant mortality in the provinces of Herat and Kabul” and an other grant of 1 million Euros for the UNHCR initiative “Sustainable Return and Reintegration of Afghan Refugees and IDPs”.
